Rachael is an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, with 8 years of experience working within the NHS, across adult and child populations. Rachael works therapeutically with a variety of difficulties including trauma, anxiety, depression and OCD, using a combination of evidence-based therapies such as Compassion focussed therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Cognitive Behavioural therapy, EMDR and systemic approaches, where appropriate.
Rachael has a special interest working with chronic health conditions, having lived experience of Type 1 diabetes, and working with parents of children with chronic health conditions. Rachael is also a trauma-informed therapist, with a passion for empowering individuals to understand their difficulties through psychoeducation and taking a narrative approach to processing and moving through traumatic experience.
As a therapist, Rachael will meet you where you are on your therapeutic journey, using a deeply compassionate approach to understand you and your story, utilising evidence-based therapies in an integrative way. Rachael understands the importance of feeling heard and understood and aims to provide a tailored and empathetic experience for all of the individuals she works with.
Rachael adopts an integrated therapeutic approach, and works with the following modalities:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, including Trauma-focussed CBT
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Compassion focussed therapy (CFT)
- Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Schema Therapy informed work
